Leveling

Members earn XP for chatting and spending time in voice, level up, and can unlock roles on the way. Leveling is on as soon as Omni joins.

How XP works

A message earns 23 XP, at most once every 10 seconds per member. Voice earns 1 XP a minute, up to 120 a day. Each level needs more XP than the last, and one big reward can skip several levels at once.

Change the amounts on the dashboard's Leveling page or with:

/xp settings min-xp:15 max-xp:25 cooldown-seconds:30

Set a max above the min and each message earns a random amount between them. You can also give extra XP for messages with files, and double XP on chosen days with bonus-days.

Level-up messages

Choose where level-ups are announced: a level-up channel, where the member was chatting, their DMs, or nowhere. They're posted as an image card by default, or as an embed or plain text.

Edit the text on the Leveling page. Tokens like {user}, {level} and {role} fill in the details.

Level roles

Give a role when a member reaches a level. Add them on the dashboard's Level roles page, or:

/levelroles add level:10 role:@Regular

defaults creates five ready-made roles from level 5 to 100. Members keep every level role they've earned unless you turn on Keep only the highest.

Level roles are handed out at the next level-up, so members who already passed a level get the new role when they level up again.

Boosts, no-XP zones and decay

The XP boosts and drops page covers the rest:

  • Boosts: make a role or channel earn more or less XP, for example 2x for boosters. Also /xp multiplier.
  • No XP here: channels and roles that never earn XP. Also /settings no-xp.
  • XP decay: inactive members slowly lose XP after a few quiet days. Off by default.
  • XP drops: a button pops up in chat now and then, and the first to click wins XP or coins. Off by default.

Leaderboards

Members check their card with /level and the rankings with /top. For a leaderboard that stays in a channel and updates itself every 10 minutes:

/xp board channel:#leaderboard period:This week

/xp top-role gives a role to the week's top chatters, and /xp import brings levels over from MEE6.
